Holiday Gifts Under $60

Wardrobe - Accessories are my favorite things to buy for friends because choosing clothing in the proper size is so difficult. However, this sweater is worth the trouble of finding their size. It is so soft and comes in so many colors. The plaid scarf is ideal for that preppy, VV loving person in your life. They'll be able to rock it through the winter. A go-to gift for my mom is always an iPhone case because they're a great accessory and you can always use a new one. This necklace is super cute (with lots of color options) and great for your best friend. Converse are something that everyone could use but your friends might not splurge on them, so help them out! My best friend would love this colorful scarf because it looks incredibly cozy. Also, this pom pom beret is on my list because I could wear it to Texas stuff and it has a huge freaking pom! Loving these hair ties for anyone in your life because they are cute and no one buys themselves cute hair ties. Tortoise bangles are such a necessity for 2019, I'm calling it now. And these earrings are perfect for that NYEe party you've been invited to. Lastly, a wallet is a classy, elegant gift to get anyone in your life.
Books - We know I love a coffee table book and all of my friends do too, so get your besties the aesthetically pleasing books they crave. Currently loving Gray's art so Beaches is a must. I've never been super into horses but I love the clothes, so I need this one. And Fashion in Film seems like an interesting read!
Homewares - The amber spruce candle is both aesthetically pleasing and it smells amazing. This would be a great one for a coworker who you like but don't know that well. The cactus mug also falls under the coworker, because who wouldn't appreciate that cuteness? I'm loving this orange throw for myself but it's also great for that friend that is always cold! The plaid pillow would be a fun hostess present for whomever loves the holiday season in your life.
Fun - Do you have a friend that treats their dog like a child? The signs are there, they love their pet more than they love anything else. Well this dog sweater is so stinking cute. We all know I'm obsessed with pom poms so put them on a dog and I'm even more here for it. I will never be a beauty guru but I know some people that were meant to live that life. This clinique lip set will enthrall them for months and months to come. When I was younger I had a portable speaker and I loved it; I think this would be a great gift for anyone in college or who just loves to share their music. Lastly, the cactus float is something we can all appreciate and want for ourselves. Why not surprise your bestie with this cute pool accessory for their next trip to the tropics?

Week Re-Cap

Dinner at Root Down in the Denver Airport
Oh lordy, it's Thursday already? Good god this week has gone by quickly. I realize I didn't fly home until Tuesday and then I got a huge migraine so I went to bed at 5:30pm and then Wednesday went by quickly and now we're here. I'm packing yet again, this is the last weekend until the new year that I'm traveling. I'm excited to visit Bean in Dallas for the Big 12 Championship Game...#BeatOU!! The photos in this post are from my week at home. It was so relaxing; we just laid around our house eating, watching football and catching up on White Chapel on Amazon Prime. So good! Hope your week has been going well, what are you up to? - xoxo darling, Hayden

A little rose to celebrate my three month anniversary at Miles!

My parents got my diploma framed and it looks so good!

Apple cake on Thanksgiving.

I ate at the Bagel Factory three of the five days I was home....

A little charcuterie plate before watching the Longhorns beat Kansas.

My favorite FM spot got their holiday flavors...we loved the peppermint cream
so much we went back before I flew home.

Holiday Sweaters

So Christmas is coming and I'm really trying to embrace the holidays this year instead of being against them...it's a big step. But I'm going to do vlogmas and having fun is more fun than not enjoying something so we shall see. But I thought why not do a 25 days of holiday sweaters? Most of these are just cute winter sweaters, some are cheesy but I think each would be cute. Now that I live in a cold place I plan on rocking some Christmas jumpers this month more often than not! Let me know your favorite - xoxo darling, Hayden.

Okay, that first sweater is a sweater of my dreams. I want it so bad, it's holiday and it has pom poms! It's a fantastic way to start your holiday spirit. December 2nd you should still stay in that OTT mood with candy canes but a little less aggressive, if you know what I mean. The plaid is just a true classic, a great way to be holiday without screaming it. Maybe you have a work meeting on Monday that you want to be festive for but need to calm down a bit. December 4th's sweater is just cute. I would wear it any time of the year, it's just sweet. End the first five days of December with a very interesting turtleneck that includes a candy wreath, Wednesday is going to be a lot.
Thursday morning will be cold {well maybe not if you live in the south, but whatever, go with the idea}, so show that on your body with this little snowflake number. You are a candy cane cutie, so tell the world on Friday. Saturday, maybe you have a dinner with your in-laws, or a meeting about your side hustle; this grey mistletoe is the perfect match! Sunday is a day to lie around your house, reading, with no make up and your glasses, wear that concept on your torso too! Make Monday merry (I realize that's a challenge, but try) with sweater no. 10.
I'm truly obsessed with day number 11. The sparkles, the subtle...or not so subtle holiday spirit, all of it! A good fair isle will take you a long way on the 12th. LOOK AT THOSE DOGS IN SWEATERS! I think the best thing about #13 is that you can wear this bad boy through winter. Moving onto 14, the let is snow sweater is another one of my absolute favorites because it's cute and has pom poms. We know I love pom poms! 15 also falls into the, can wear it after the holidays category, plus, it's just a nice sweater.
16. Reindeer, 17. Red & Gold Stripes, 18. Reindeer, 19. Gap, 20. Red Fair Isle
At this point, maybe you're a little sick of wearing holiday sweaters. So there are a lot of just winter sweaters this week, in fact 16, 19 and 20 could be worn at any winter date. The red and gold stripes just looks fun and festive, I like the cut. And the reindeer is such a cute but not tacky way of celebrating your holiday spirit.
Ooooo, another sweater we can wear after the holiday season? Why yes, this little hat The 22nd brings a day where you're tired of the holidays...it happens. But you want to continue this festive thing you've been doing, so you throw on this fair isle. The last three days of this sweater challenge...is it a challenge...no...are very festive. The joyeux noel is a great sweater, the Rudolph is over the top and the last day's Christmas tree is just too cute.

Week in My Life Vlog: Austin + Marcus

Two weeks ago I filmed a week in my life vlog...it starts off on a Tuesday and ends on a Sunday so is it really a week? No, but it does have Marcus who always takes part in the best vlogs so there you go. I took him to his first college football game, we went to the FOMO Factory and more. Check it out and let me know your thoughts - xoxo darling, Hayden.
P.S. Give Marcus some love in those comments!

Quotes of the Week

Oh my goodness, best weekend ever. Seriously y'all, I didn't realize how nice a break to just lay around my childhood home, eating, watching football and spending time with my two favorite people would be. This Thanksgiving has proven that even when you're having a blast you need a lazy break.
Today I'm still in Florida, I fly back to Denver at the crack of dawn tomorrow. I'll be in Denver until Friday night when I fly to Dallas to visit Bean and go to the Big 12 Championship!! I'm so excited, I can hardly stand it. Then it's back to Denver, then Bean comes to visit Denver, then I have a little break, then my parents are here, then it's Christmas and then it's bowl season. Yeah...the end of the year is about to get nuts. But this weekend has taught me, sometimes it's nice to just slow down and enjoy life.
Hope your holiday was fun and relaxing, let's get that bread - xoxo darling, Hayden.

Holiday Gifts Under $80

The next gift guide is here! All of these presents are under $80 and I think each and every one is amazing. I would love all of them to be under my tree on the 25th (well maybe not the earrings...I don't have my ears pierced).

{Llama Pillow, Tins, Brooks Brothers Book, Ember Mug, Beanie, Earrings, Sweater Cape, Vase, Scarf, Slippers, iPhone Case, Hat, May I Come In?, Plaid Blanket, Floral Pillow, Coasters, Candles, Leather Clutch, Tortoise Sunglasses, Black Sunglasses, Black & White Scarf, Colorful Scarf, Campbell's Candle, Chanel Book, Camera, Sweater Pillow, Gold Notebook, Yves Saint Laurent Book, Pom Pom Pillow, Flamingo Float, Unicorn Float}
Books - When I was in elementary school we had to read a book every day so we could take an Accelerated Reading test (who else did AR?!) on it, so we could go to recess. I hated this so I told my parents I hated reading...and boy has that sentiment changed. Now I realize a book is one of the greatest gifts you can give someone. All of the books in the photo above look like they'd be fun to read. You can learn about the history of Brooks Brothers, find out how people decorate their homes, see Chanel illustrations, look at the 70s fashion of Saint Laurent or write your own book with that adorable gold notebook
Home - A good go to for someone you don't know super well or for your relative that's hosting Christmas or for your friend who is always hostessing are homewares. I love this llama Pillow for your traveling friend, the floral pillow for your preppy friend, the sweater pillow for your Christmas obsessed friend and the pom pom pillow for anyone. These tins just seem really cute and I think they would make great "wrapping" for little gifts for your friends. The ember mug is perfect for the Lorelai Gilmore in your life. If you know someone who is always cold, get them this adorable plaid blanket. Don't know the person very well? This vase, these coasters or any candle (I like the macrons and the Campbell's soup) should work.
Accessories -  When buying presents for my friends, I tend to stick to accessories. That way I don't have to do that awkward "what size are you" text. I love both the black and tortoise sunglasses for can't be bothered friend. And this clutch is so cute! The colorful scarf looks incredibly cozy, while the black and white & grey ones look incredibly soft. That beanie is ideal for a fan of any football team with red in its colors or just if you want to look cute in holiday photos. I'm not a slipper person, but how over the top and amazing are these? Also, I've been wanting a sweater cape thing because some of my friends pull them off so well. If your friend can pull off hats, get her this one because it's adorable. My mom always needs a new iPhone case and I really like the Kate Spade brand, they usually look good the whole time. The earrings are just for anyone, they just look cute!
Fun - Everyone needs a lil fun under their tree! I've given pool floats as presents before and this  flamingo and unicorn are truly perfection. It'll inspire your friends to go on a warm vacation in the spring! Now if your friend loves to take photos, I think this little camera would be a great present.

Week Re-Cap

Happy Thanksgiving Eve! Tonight I am headed to Florida to spend my favorite holiday with my parents eating bagels. I'm hyped. This last weekend I visited one of my best friends, Marcus, in Austin for the last Texas football game (we won and had a blast, the vlog is coming next week and it's a must watch) and to visit the FOMO Factory (there are two photos below but I have a whole post coming soon). We also watched the new Christmas movie on Netflix about the princess switch, it was pretty terrible but we loved it. Overall, it was just a wonderful weekend and I already miss my bestie.
The work week went by incredibly quickly, we are doing final proofs of our print guides and I've been writing up a storm. As for Vlogmas, it's a little less than two weeks away so I made my vlogmas intro and am working on all of that good stuff...might have bought a Christmas tree the other day...
What are y'all up to? - xoxo darling, Hayden

Last flight to Austin of the season.

A beautiful Austin day.
Favorite place...

...favorite person.

Tried our first Bloody Mary...we hated it.

Adorable entrance to the FOMO Factory.

This wall is me.

Last of Fall Top

Fall is coming to a close, and I'm really sad about it! We're going to have to wait a whole other year to see the leaves change and we're going to plunge into actual winter...I'm not here for it. But let's enjoy while we can! I found this top back in August for Texas events and it's just so cute. And it's soft...basically it's just great. Would 10/10 recommend. What do y'all think? - xoxo darling, Hayden

Quotes of the Week

Oooo what a Monday! I got back super late last night from Austin, woot, where I had the best time with Marcus and we won!!! Seriously, you don't know how much you'll miss your friends until you move far away from them. This week is a short one in Denver and you know what? I'm kind of sick of flying. I say this now and in the spring I'll be itching to jet off somewhere. But dang y'all. It has gotten exhausting not being in the same place week to week. But still, I'm super excited to fly home for the Thanksgiving holiday. I get a full four days with my family and I just want to relax and enjoy some bagels. Hope your Monday is off to a great start - xoxo darling, Hayden.

Holiday Gifts Under $100

Welcome to the season! That's right it's finally time for the gift guides and holiday postings. Are y'all ready? Because, believe it or not, I think I am. This year I'm feeling really pumped for the holiday season...I'm not sure why...maybe it's because I don't have tests/final projects looming over me but I'm hyped to spend the end of the year with my friends and family doing fun things. Below is my under $100 gift guide for anybody in your life. Let me know your favorites - xoxo darling, Hayden.

{Candle, Sparkle Keds, Le Creuset, Skirt, Purse, Backpack, Earrings, Blanket, Heels, Sunglasses, Coffee Maker, Hat, Kate Spade Bag, Cake Stand, Geometric Bag, Sweater, Lilly Dress, Slip Pillowcase, New Balance, Gloves, Perfume}
Candle - As someone who is new to the candle world, I am always shocked when they are so expensive. But I think that's what makes them great presents. You are truly buying something for someone that they wouldn't buy for themselves. Especially one of these huge candles that will last them forever, all you need to know are their favorite scents.
Sparkle Keds - How fun are these?! I legitimately chose them because I think they're fun. Plus, they would make a great holiday gift so the receiver can wear them on New Years Eve. Nothing better than a sparkly moment for that holiday.
Le Creuset - If someone gave me Le Creuset for a holiday I would know they love me. First, they're expensive, second, they're heavy. You have to be committed to someone to buy them one of these French baking dishes. But gosh, aren't they wonderful?
Skirt - There isn't anything particularly special about this item. I just like it and think it would look good on any of the ladies in your life.
Purse - How cute is this?! The circle shape is so much more unique than the usual square so if you get this for your bestie she'll be the talk of the town. Plus, it comes in a bunch of colors so you can really pick something perfect for her.
Backpack - This backpack is so cute! The structure is amazing and so professional. Great for a friend that works in the business world that wants to be chic. It comes in a tan color but I like the blue better. It fits a 15" laptop, so it really is great.
Earrings - These little disco balls would make a bunch of people in your life happy. It's like they're wearing parties on their ears! Another great piece for someone's NYE outfit.
Blanket - Now that I live in a cold place I really appreciate a good blanket. This one is adorable and I would love to have it on my couch...I'm sure the people in your life will love it too. It comes in three different colors, all of which seem cozy and all of which will keep you warm as we head into January.
Heels - Know a Longhorn? These shoes would be perfect for them! They are the absolute right shade of burnt orange and they will go with anything - jeans and a white Oxford shirt, white/orange dress, skirts, etc. You can dress them up or dress them down!
Sunglasses - A pair of expensive sunglasses is a thing I wouldn't spend money on but it would be a sweet gift for someone in your life. These are cute and matte so they're a little different but they maintain that classic shape.
Coffee Maker - Oooo, get this for someone in your life and they might propose. This thing looks glorious. As a person who uses her roommate's two cup Mr. Coffee, dang this looks beautiful. Get this for your friends who adore coffee and they'll never not be your friend.
Hat - I will fully admit, I would never purchase a beanie that was between $80-$100 but it was cute so I thought I would include it. And maybe you have that much money to drop on a friend's hat. Also, maybe this will inspire you to get your friend a cute bauble hat without spending this much money...
Kate Spade Bag - If you know someone that goes to events in stadiums frequently (concerts, football games, etc.) this is the perfect gift! It fits in the palm of your hand but has a strap so you can put it on. It's just for your phone and credit cards/cash so no space for things you don't really need and will get you in anywhere. Plus, great for nights out on the town!
Cake Stand - Have a hostess in your life? Someone that would actually put a cake stand to good use? Get them this beautifully crafted stand! I'm in love with the design of it; it would be a great statement piece on your kitchen counter.
Geometric Bag - I'm still obsessed with these, I don't care if they aren't #trendy anymore. I think they are fun and all of my friends would love 'em.
Sweater - Cashmere is so nice, but who buys it for themselves? I just discovered a sweater I bought at Goodwill is 100% cashmere and I was shook because I didn't know I owned something that nice. This sweater comes in every color under the sun and I think it's a great piece for anyone in your life.
Lilly Dress - Know someone who lives in a tropical climate? Or someone who's going on a spring holiday? Get them this cute lil dress! I love the pattern and the cut; I think it would look flattering on anyone!
Slip Pillowcase - I have no idea if this works but lordy the reviews make me want to buy one for myself. No frizz? Better skin? I'm here for those things. This is very much a luxury I wouldn't buy for myself but I would totally buy for a best friend or mom or sister.
New Balance - How cute are these? I'm in love! These would be a great gift for your bestie, sister or mom I think because they are cute, comfy and just a really good buy. Who could say no to these?
Gloves - If you know someone who lives in a cold climate or travels to cold climates gloves are a great purchase. I like these because they are just luxury enough. Like they are good gloves but they aren't ridiculously expensive.
Perfume - A great luxury present that your friends won't buy for themselves is perfume. I'm guilty of this! Bath and Bodyworks spray for life, am I right? But something cute like this will brighten their day.

Best Advent Calendars

The holidays are right around the corner, trust me, I've been prepping. Now ever since I became a Zoella vlog lover I've re-discovered advent calendars. The last time I had one was probably in high school? My mom used to bring German versions home. But now that I'm an adult, I want a better advent calendar than just regular chocolate. Below are my picks for the best of the season. Splurge for yourself, buy one for your parents or maybe get your best friend a super early Christmas present. No matter who you give one to, they'll love it. Do you have a favorite? - xoxo darling, Hayden

For the Skin Care Obsessed

We all know someone who is obsessed with their skin care routine. They know every trend in skin care lines, they wear sheet masks and they do it well, they can give you recommendations based on your Zodiac...basically we all have that one friend. Why not surprise that person with a L'Occitane advent calendar? This is one of the most luxurious, cutest things I've ever seen. I love the illustrations and colors not to mention the amount of amazing products located within. Your skin care loving friend might die when they open this bad boy up. It would be an amazing early Christmas present, I promise.

For the Creative Parent

This isn't so much a gift as it is an option for those of you that are #extra. Because y'all exist and want to be recognized for your contributions and here we go, we're recognizing your need to be over the top! This Anthropologie calendar is adorable. I love it. However, you have to create all of the presents in it - you could go the easy route and just buy a 25 pack of candy or you can be more interesting with your stuff. Overall, I love this idea and if I had kids I think I would...if my November was particularly slow, otherwise they might get a 99 cent one from Trader Joe's, who knows! No, I'm totally kidding, this is a really cute idea and I think a ton of families would make this a big Christmas tradition. Also, you don't have to do this for kids, you could buy this and make stuff for your friends or roommates and each day y'all open it together; I'm not here to limit you!

For the Old British Woman in All of Us

Does someone in your life love to sit around, reading, maybe in a nook, while it rains, while wearing soft socks, a cashmere throw blanket and all while it rains lightly outside? Well, then that person needs the Fortnum & Mason tea advent calendar. Because nothing would make the scene above better than a very aesthetically pleasing pale pink mug with a tea bag hanging off the side. Also, this calendar is just adorable. I love F&M and this would just be a great, kind of luxury gift for a friend or parent in your life. Also, it's made out of wood so you can actually keep the thing and buy your own tea next year so that you get all the flavors you like. Although the Double Dragon Pearl does sound interesting...

For the Future Ina

Okay, I wish this one was tiny cooking implements...but alas it's just really nice chocolate. However, I feel if you get it wrapped in Williams Sonoma paper your friend that wishes to be Ina Garten will love it. I mean, I would. WS is one of my all-time favorite stores so if I were to receive a advent calendar from them I would die.

For the Nostalgic

Who wants to go back to elementary school? I DO. No, seriously, I miss doing crafting stations and having centers and P.E. and all of the fun things I got to participate in when the only worry I had was my Friday spelling test. Y'all, adulating is hard and this Lip Smacker advent calendar will take you back to those good old days. I remember the first Lip Smacker I ever tried was Dr. Pepper flavored in 5th grade. My friends gave me a make-over and a little kit to keep up with the make-over (you might not believe this, but in elementary school I always wore my hair in a pony tail and dressed horribly) and there was my very own Lip Smacker. Get this for anyone in your life that loves feeling that nostalgia.

For the Cheese Lover

Okay, Serena and I had grand plans to get the Aldi cheese advent calendar. But you know what, it's a really big deal and we didn't know that. They had sold out by the time she got to the Aldi in Fort Worth...so the back up: Ilchester Advent Calendar. You can purchase this bad boy at Target, it's British (so not German, but close!) for $24.99! It's a steal for all that cheese. Get this for your friend that is obsessed with fromage or the person that loves wine in your life and likes to be bougie. Or send it to me, my address is -----, just kidding!

For the Parisian

Angelina is one of my favorite Paris spots, because you feel like Coco Chanel sipping your incredibly thick hot chocolate and eating a chocolate torte. So if you have a Francophile bestie or family member, this would be the perfect present. Or maybe your friend has no idea what this place is, the chocolate looks amazing. Seriously, that stuff looks delicious and the packaging is adorable. Also, it comes with crispy crepes...my mouth is watering.

Week Re-Cap

Panang Curry at Aung's in Denver
Oooo what a week! So much food, I mean so much. But it was a great time, we visited Michigan and Indiana (crossed off a 101 in 1001) for a football game and just had a great time hanging out with each other. Other than that it's been very chill. However, it super snowed in Colorado when I landed on Sunday so I had to drive in a bunch of snow and I hated every minute of it. But the roads have now melted as of yesterday so it's fine! This week I'm off to Austin to visit with Marcus, one of my besties and we're going to have the most amazing time. What are y'all up to? - xoxo darling, Hayden

The best Pad Thai I've ever had...

First "red" cup of the season...and you know what? I didn't like it. If you've been a blog reader for a while you know that I used to be a lil Starbs obsessed. But then I had better coffee and now I avoid their coffee pretty hard, it's just too bitter. But I loooove that cup, it's so cute.

Tried Las Delicias, a classic Denver restaurant and it was good!
Their salsa was just the right amount of spicy.

Do you follow me on Instagram?  If so, you'll see content like this!

Trader Joe's Hot Cocoa O's are delicious!

HOLD THE PHONE. Dutch Bros now has its holiday menu and
the Chai Eggnog is one of the greatest things I've ever tasted.

Flew to Michigan to witness snow, just kidding, we went for a football game.

The Mitten Brewing Company

Downtown Grand Rapids

A little snack at Grand Rapids Brewing.

Winter is here y'all.

Spinach Artichoke at Evil Czech Brewing.

Touchdown Jesus at Notre Dame.

So cold.

Notre Dame Stadium

Zingerman's Deli in Ann Arbor.

How epic are these?!

Oh, this was delicious.

Biggby Coffee was a thing in Michigan so we had to stop.

Tried their Candy Cane, it was delicious!

Max & Erma's in the Detroit Airport.

Newbie Winter Skin Guide

As a person who has truly never cared about her skin. I'm not kidding...this blogger doesn't really care. However, as we all know, I now live in Denver where it's cold and dry. I mean really dry. So I've had to start caring about my skin because it starts to get real red and it will hurt if I don't pay attention. It's so annoying !! But you know what? I guess this is my skin's way of telling me to grow up and start caring about it. I'm angry but only slightly hahaha. So welcome to a newbies guide to winter skin - xoxo darling, Hayden.

Lips

Lip Scrub

I was reading a beauty article about lip repair because mine were getting real bad about a month into moving out here and they suggested doing a lip scrub once or twice a week. So I looked into Ulta and found this Fizz & Bubble Watermelon Scrub. The brand makes tons of flavors but I was really in the mood for watermelon - maybe I was dreaming of summer. Having never used a sugar scrub before, I didn't realize that after you apply it you can just lick it off, which is awesome. I really like it. I do it about once a week...or when I remember to and then immediately apply Chapstick or my night lip repair. It truly does take the dead skin off and leaves your lips really soft.

Chapstick

Wow, what a revelation, Chapstick really works! If I'm being honest, I am using a limited edition Blue Raspberry Slurpee flavor Chapstick that I got for free at a Texas football game. My family grabbed me three of them so I have one at my desk, one in my apartment and one in my rotating purse. They will run out soon so I am thinking I want this peppermint one I found at Walgreens. I'm here for it. As for application, I apply it whenever I feel like it or when my lips seem particularly dry.

Lip Repair

I'm an avid Cupcakes & Cashmere reader and the other day she posted on her Instastory about Lano Lips, a product she adores. I was in need of some intense lip repair so I decided to find it and buy some. You can get it at Ulta for about $17 a bottle, or you can buy a two pack from Nordstrom for $27, which is a better deal! I put it on right before I go to bed, it sits on my nightstand, and y'all. I LOVE IT. Seriously, I've told all of my friends about it, encouraging them to try it because I'm obsessed. Admittedly, it's hard to get it out of the bottle but then you warm it up between your fingers, rub it on, fall asleep and wake up with soft as a fleece blanket (did that make sense?) lips.

Face

Scrub

About three times a week, I apply this face scrub from Acure while in the shower. It is absolutely disgusting looking but it works! I wet my face, rub it on and then just step under the warm shower. As soon as I'm out I apply the night cream below...

Night Cream

We've discussed my face on here before and how I'm really trying to make an effort with my moisturizer. I've been using this Olay every night after I get out of the shower and it really works! I'm running out and don't want to buy more, despite the fact that I need to, but you should apply it fairly thick if you want to see results.

Moisturizer

During the day, if I can remember, I put on moisturizer in the morning. Right now I'm using this one from Clinique. It just gives a little layer between your skin and the cold, dry wind. I apply it right after I brush my teeth, before I put my mascara on. You can be a little less heavy handed with this than the night cream, but still make sure to put a thick bit on.

General Skin

Lotion

My least favorite part of this whole routine is putting lotion on. I hate feeling sticky and most lotion makes me feel...ew. And this one from Aveeno does too, I just like it because it's unscented and I feel it working. But basically, after I get out of the shower, do my hair and put on my moisturizer, I apply my lotion. I start with my legs (which are always super dry) then do my arms and my lower back...that sounds weird but I do! Then I put it super thick on my hands because they get so dry. I'm actually contemplating going to the Dollar Tree near me to buy some cheap cloth gloves so I can put the lotion on my hands then put the gloves on and sleep that way to get them super soft. I will say, this stuff works and my body feels way softer than usual, so yeah...go forth and feel sticky.

Body Scrub

If y'all have any recommendations for body scrubs, please let me know in the comments below. I haven't found one I like but I want to add it to the routine!

Quotes of the Week

Happy Monday lovelies! Hope your weekend went really well. I was in Michigan and Indiana for a little over 24 hours with the family and came home to intense Colorado snow. So now I've driven in the snow twice and it terrifies me, but we'll get better, ya know? This week I have some friend dates and such then I am off to Austin to see one of my best friends, Marcus. We haven't seen each other since early May and I CANNOT WAIT. We always have a blast drinking, watching classic movies and enjoying milkshakes. What are y'all up to? - xoxo darling, Hayden

Winter PJs

Y'all. It is cold in Denver. Like seriously cold. And I've never truly experienced cold nights but now I am! So I decided to compile a list of some winter pajamas I've had my eyes on. It's the first time I've ever worn pants to bed and I really want some fleece ones because they look so comfy. Also, because the holidays are rapidly approaching, I've included a lot of Christmas themed jammies. Hope you enjoy & let me know your tips for sleeping in the cold weather - xoxo darling, Hayden.

Week Re-Cap

Gelato at Mici
I am writing this before knowing the outcomes of yesterday's elections. But gosh I hope it went well because if not I'll be depressed for a few weeks before stepping back up and working on making the country better. This weekend was super fun, I visited Austin with my dad. We did lose, so that wasn't fun, but it was nice to see my dad. Tonight I'm getting dinner with a friend at a Denver institution, Las Delicias and I'm excited! On Saturday (at 6am) I head for Michigan and Indiana for the FSU Notre Dame game with my parents. It's going to be below freezing for most of the game...I'm not physically prepared but it should be fun. Then it's back to Denver for more adventures. What are you up to? - xoxo darling, Hayden

Breakfast at La Madeleine on Saturday

The most beautiful Austin weather

Lunch at Cabo Bob's

Trying to get Modelo to sponsor me...it's not working thus far.

Ugh, see you for the last time in two weeks DKR!

Apple Picking

Apple picking was something I have always wanted to do and I finally got to! Living in Colorado has been such a blast because I can celebrate all of the seasons and I'm here for it. This sweater came from H&M about a month ago and it's one of the more daring pieces I've ever purchased. But I kind of love it? It's incredibly comfy and I kind of like the turtleneck...something I never thought I would say. The rest of the outfit you've seen before in countless posts. What do you think? - xoxo darling, Hayden

Quotes of the Week

Welp. It was a great weekend because I got to see my dad & we had an absolute blast. However, Texas lost again...which was quite upsetting. But it's going to be okay! We've got to go to Lubbock to play Tech this weekend, but I won't be watching it because I'll be in Indiana at a Notre Dame game! I'm meeting the fam in Michigan to drive over...I'll be there for less than 24 hours but it'll be great. Other than that this week is pretty chill. My nights are pretty booked up with dates & friends, tonight I have a date with Trader Joe's because I am out of food. But yeah...I don't have a ton to share, I hope your week is going well - xoxo darling, Hayden.

Elections

Hello, hi, welcome to my Ted Talk.
Just kidding, but I do want to talk about something a little more serious than what I'm wearing, or eating or what I'm listening to. Today I want to talk about voting. And elections. And the state of our country. I'm unabashedly a Democrat. I know this, you probably know this, and that's fine - it's my opinion and you are entitled to yours. But I want to use my platform to encourage as many of you as I possibly can to get out there and vote. In some states early voting has already ended, others it's still going on. But you definitely need to vote on November 6th if you haven't already. Elections are the way we can voice our opinions. Yes, we can protest, we can discuss and argue but elections are the way we actually see the changes we want made in action. And as a woman, this election season is even more important. It's time to show politicians we will not be silenced, we will not just stand down about Kavanaugh or the things our current president says.
And if you really think about it, everyone in this country has had to fight for the right to vote. Whether you were a white man (the American Revolution), a white woman (the hunger strikes), or a person of color (so many instances, it's horrifying to imagine) - your ancestors fought for your right to vote. So don't think it isn't important and that your voice doesn't matter and that you don't need to do it. Voting isn't a choice, it's a duty. It's your right to make decisions about our country. Please, do not let this opportunity pass you up.
I'll get off my soapbox now, hope you have a great weekend rocking that "I Voted" sticker, it truly is the best accessory - xoxo darling, Hayden.

New Playlist

{via}
Now that I drive a lot more than I ever have in the past...we stan a work commute...I decided that I needed a good playlist for the car. And you know what? I now look forward to my drives to and from the office because I become a Broadway performer (without the amazing voice). Below is my Car Ride Musical playlist. It includes some Broadway numbers (I'm a huge Wicked fan), some Beyonce (as we cannot have a playlist without the Queen B), some country and then a few songs from
A Star is Born," which I will never watch but goodness I do love the soundtrack. I hope y'all enjoy it! Let me know if there is a song you think I should add - xoxo darling, Hayden.
