Surprise! {Party}

I have never thrown a surprise party but over the summer I decided why not? That sounds crazy, right? Who willingly wants to throw a party by themselves that no one knows about? But I did and this is what happened. Watch the video below to see the whole process from conception to the actual party and below the video are a few photos of the evening. It went really well and I'm very proud of it. You can find the DIY for the party hats here. Have you ever thrown a surprise party? -xoxo darling, Hayden

Will it Ever be Fall?

As I write this post the high for tomorrow is 64, the low is 44...I AM SO EXCITED! However, I stand by the title of this post because it is back in the 80s next week. Also, if you go to UT or have ever been to UT you will know that I literally look like I'm in a Co-Op ad, but I promise I'm not. I just really love burnt orange and I think this outfit is the perfect way to celebrate Fall in the South. The tunic is so comfortable, I swear I could live in it and I have never had to iron it. The Jacks I'm wearing are the original pair my parents got me for graduating high school and they are still my favorites-xoxo darling, Hayden.

These were shot at Laguna Gloria.

Week Re-Cap

Happy Wednesday y'all! It has been a stressful but good week thus far. My spirit group now plays IM dodgeball...I realize I am incredibly un-athletic but you know, gotta try. I got to try some new restaurants this week as well. And Texas football lost...let's not dwell on that. I did get to throw a surprise party for my spirit group, check back on Friday for a post about that {complete with a vlog of how it went}. This week is winding down in the best ways possible, I am looking forward to the weekend and sleeping in. What are y'all up to? -xoxo darling, Hayden
Our IM dodgeball team dares you to play us.
Did we lose all 5 sets of our dodgeball game? Yes.
Did we have the most team spirit? HECK YES.
A gloomy day on campus.
Finally tried Velvet Taco, while I still love my Torchy's best, I was impressed.
After shopping till we almost dropped, Serena and I
picked up a scone set at The Steeping Room.
Friday night at The Roosevelt Room.

We are quickly crossing off all the places on our classy bars list.

REVIEW: Maple Holistics Tea Tree Oil Shampoo

If you have read the blog for long enough you will know I hate washing my hair. Like it probably isn't normal how much I hate washing it. Most people wash their hair every day or every other day. Not this one though...if you read my post all about my strange hair you know I avoid it at every cost. That might come off as gross to most people, but I promise it's not.
Now that I've talked about my extreme dislike for washing my hair, let me tell you about the
shampoo I am currently in love with. Maple Holistics sent me their Tea Tree Oil Shampoo a few weeks ago and I was skeptical. Most shampoos make my hair extremely frizzy for approx. six days after I use them. My hair gets really soft (yes, this can be a bad thing), light and just unflattering. That is why I wash it so little. And this shampoo did make my hair frizzy for the first few days, but my hair bounced back way faster than normal. It only took it about three days to get back to its normal springy, curly, non-frizzy ways. To say I was impressed would be an understatement.
The shampoo features tea tree oil that actually helps your scalp. I have never had a bad scalp per-say but after massaging it into my scalp it felt better. The shampoo also smells really good so that might have been affecting me mid-shower. The other big positive for me was that the company is cruelty-free, something that is near and dear to my heart as a ton of my friends are avid animal supporters.
Overall, I really liked the shampoo. I think my hair benefited from it and I am going to continue to use it. They say it promotes hair growth and mine has been growing like crazy, so maybe that is true too?
P.S. If you want to test their products for yourself, and please do so you can let me know how they worked on your hair, click this link to get free samples!

Tassel Dress

This dress came from Amazon (!!), it's the brand ROMWE.
I've never used them before but this dress popped up on my
Instagram and I knew I had to have it.
I mean...I'm obsessed with tassels...
Plus it wasn't off the shoulder, a trend that I hate.
You can find the original dress here, it's only $13!!!
This shoot was at the lovely Laguna Gloria.

Week Re-Cap

What a week! It started off with the Texas Fight Rally. I'm a Texas Ex Student Ambassador so we threw it & the event went so well. Then my parents flew in and we headed to Dallas; check out the vlog here. We ate a lot of food, tried a lot of craft beer and lost the football game...but it's okay. We're going to beat OK State this weekend! My parents flew out Monday morning and I've been running around like a chicken with my head cut off ever since. It has been so busy. What have y'all been up to? -xoxo darling, Hayden
