Surprise! {Party}

I have never thrown a surprise party but over the summer I decided why not? That sounds crazy, right? Who willingly wants to throw a party by themselves that no one knows about? But I did and this is what happened. Watch the video below to see the whole process from conception to the actual party and below the video are a few photos of the evening. It went really well and I'm very proud of it. You can find the DIY for the party hats here. Have you ever thrown a surprise party? -xoxo darling, Hayden

Will it Ever be Fall?

As I write this post the high for tomorrow is 64, the low is 44...I AM SO EXCITED! However, I stand by the title of this post because it is back in the 80s next week. Also, if you go to UT or have ever been to UT you will know that I literally look like I'm in a Co-Op ad, but I promise I'm not. I just really love burnt orange and I think this outfit is the perfect way to celebrate Fall in the South. The tunic is so comfortable, I swear I could live in it and I have never had to iron it. The Jacks I'm wearing are the original pair my parents got me for graduating high school and they are still my favorites-xoxo darling, Hayden.

These were shot at Laguna Gloria.

Week Re-Cap

Happy Wednesday y'all! It has been a stressful but good week thus far. My spirit group now plays IM dodgeball...I realize I am incredibly un-athletic but you know, gotta try. I got to try some new restaurants this week as well. And Texas football lost...let's not dwell on that. I did get to throw a surprise party for my spirit group, check back on Friday for a post about that {complete with a vlog of how it went}. This week is winding down in the best ways possible, I am looking forward to the weekend and sleeping in. What are y'all up to? -xoxo darling, Hayden

Our IM dodgeball team dares you to play us.

Did we lose all 5 sets of our dodgeball game? Yes.
Did we have the most team spirit? HECK YES.

A gloomy day on campus.

Finally tried Velvet Taco, while I still love my Torchy's best, I was impressed.

After shopping till we almost dropped, Serena and I
picked up a scone set at The Steeping Room.

Friday night at The Roosevelt Room.

We are quickly crossing off all the places on our classy bars list.

REVIEW: Maple Holistics Tea Tree Oil Shampoo

If you have read the blog for long enough you will know I hate washing my hair. Like it probably isn't normal how much I hate washing it. Most people wash their hair every day or every other day. Not this one though...if you read my post all about my strange hair you know I avoid it at every cost. That might come off as gross to most people, but I promise it's not.
Now that I've talked about my extreme dislike for washing my hair, let me tell you about the

shampoo I am currently in love with. Maple Holistics sent me their Tea Tree Oil Shampoo a few weeks ago and I was skeptical. Most shampoos make my hair extremely frizzy for approx. six days after I use them. My hair gets really soft (yes, this can be a bad thing), light and just unflattering. That is why I wash it so little. And this shampoo did make my hair frizzy for the first few days, but my hair bounced back way faster than normal. It only took it about three days to get back to its normal springy, curly, non-frizzy ways. To say I was impressed would be an understatement.
The shampoo features tea tree oil that actually helps your scalp. I have never had a bad scalp per-say but after massaging it into my scalp it felt better. The shampoo also smells really good so that might have been affecting me mid-shower. The other big positive for me was that the company is cruelty-free, something that is near and dear to my heart as a ton of my friends are avid animal supporters.
Overall, I really liked the shampoo. I think my hair benefited from it and I am going to continue to use it. They say it promotes hair growth and mine has been growing like crazy, so maybe that is true too?
P.S. If you want to test their products for yourself, and please do so you can let me know how they worked on your hair, click this link to get free samples!

Tassel Dress

This dress came from Amazon (!!), it's the brand ROMWE.
I've never used them before but this dress popped up on my
Instagram and I knew I had to have it.
I mean...I'm obsessed with tassels...
Plus it wasn't off the shoulder, a trend that I hate.
You can find the original dress here, it's only $13!!!
This shoot was at the lovely Laguna Gloria.

Week Re-Cap

What a week! It started off with the Texas Fight Rally. I'm a Texas Ex Student Ambassador so we threw it & the event went so well. Then my parents flew in and we headed to Dallas; check out the vlog here. We ate a lot of food, tried a lot of craft beer and lost the football game...but it's okay. We're going to beat OK State this weekend! My parents flew out Monday morning and I've been running around like a chicken with my head cut off ever since. It has been so busy. What have y'all been up to? -xoxo darling, Hayden

The Texas Ex Student Ambassadors at the Texas Fight Rally

Downtown Denton is too cute.

Stopped by the UNT campus for a little tour.

How adorable is he?

Finally tried Pecan Lodge, it was good.

Loved the set up for the Peticolas brewery.

The must have photo with Big Tex.

It was a beautiful day for a football game.

Fried Texas Sheet Cake...it was delicious.

Tried a new brewery in north Austin.

#BEATOU

Hello from Dallas! Last night the parental unit flew into Austin and we drove up to Big D for the weekend. We are off to adventure today, checking out Denton, Deep Ellum and more. Tomorrow is the Texas vs. OU game. This is a seriously big deal for us this season because we actually have a chance to win! We'll also be eating way too much fried food at the fair tomorrow. Get ready for a Weekend in Dallas vlog as well as a few posts next week about our adventures. I hope you have a wonderful weekend-xoxo darling, Hayden.

Fall Staples

We had our first day of fall in Texas on Tuesday {it was in the 60s!} so of course I made a post about all of the fall clothes I wish were in my closet. Some of these pieces are, others are on my wish list. But hopefully you're living somewhere you can rock this stuff. I'm very much into the neutral sweater with accessorized gem necklaces, a deep brown tote bag and dark jeans with cute loafers. Below this image of all of the clothes laid out are about 6 items of each so you can see how various brands have interpreted them. If you click on an image it will take you to the brand's website. What are y'all planning to rock this Fall?

Week Re-Cap

Midterms are officially over! And while it was really rough, I'm very proud of myself for the studying that went on. I am really trying to get a good grade in each class so I have dedicated so much more time to studying. It's not fun but it does feel good to know I am putting in so much effort. Now I know which classes I really need to work on and which ones I am doing just enough in. Other than that, it was a fun week. Hannah came to visit on Saturday for the game {which we WON!!!!} and it was so nice to have her here. Tomorrow my parents fly in and we will be headed to Dallas for the OU game...that's right it's 7am and OU STILL SUCKS! Hope your week is going well-xoxo darling, Hayden.

Celebrated National Taco Day with a free taco at Torchy's.

Friday study vibes at Mozart's.

Dinner at Drink.Well. on Friday night featuring a Black Forrest Twinkie.

A shoot at Laguna Gloria on Saturday morning.

Our first home game at night.

Brunch at Native on Sunday.

Rugby Cheer

Yes, I am wearing a mens shirt in this, but it was too cute not to buy it! The skirt is actually from Amazon, you can find it here, it's only $16! But it does run a little small so be wary of that. I realize I am basically wearing a cheer skirt, but this trend was all over my Instagram because of a brand called Hype & Vice who really seemed to bring this trend to fruition. A lot of the instas at Southern Cal, Michigan State and other places were wearing these skirts so I really wanted one. I couldn't find any in burnt orange so I went with the navy because it will go with {almost} everything. Plus, it's super comfy and the pleats are pretty flattering. I realize this trend might not be for everyone and I hate being #trendy but sometimes you gotta participate.
We did this shoot at the beautiful Laguna Gloria in the early morning and the lighting was A+.

Week Re-Cap

Last week/this weekend went so well! I had a great time, we went roller skating, I saw a concert/stayed out way too late and went on a scavenger hunt. But now it's time for super studying. I have a statistics midterm today, an international advertising midterm tomorrow and an economics midterm next Tuesday. But on the positive side, Hannah is coming to visit this weekend for the football game so she'll help me de-stress a little. What's up in y'all's lives? -xoxo darling, Hayden

Friday night at the skating rink.

Alyssa and I went to St. Elmo to watch our
Thursday night game vs. Iowa State...which we won by the way!!!

It was National Coffee Day and I didn't post this on Insta...but I did drink coffee.

Alyssa and I post concert.

Finally got to try Garage, it's a bar in an old parking garage downtown.

How cute are these drinks?

The Pisco Punch was delish - it had a giant wedge of pineapple in it...so #onbrand.

Midterms

Hi my lovelies,
Unfortunately I am swamped with school this week. So you won't be getting a real post today, Thursday or Friday {unless I can do one on Thursday night}. But tomorrow there will be a week re-cap so come back for that. I apologize, but school comes first/I am #stressed to the max right now. Hope everything is going well in your life-xoxo darling, Hayden.
