With Valentine's Day less than a week away I thought I would round up seven of my favorite date night spots. They range in prices, but they are all delightful. What's your favorite?
1. El Five
Sat on a rooftop in the Lower Highlands neighborhood, El Five is one of my all-time favorite Denver restaurants. It's definitely meant for special occasions (it can get a bit pricey) but the view + the food is wonderful.
What to order: Carne Paella
2. Lucy's Burger Bar
This casual diner on Tennyson is the kind of place you walk to in the snow after a long day when you just want to connect with your partner over the (in my opinion) best burger in Denver. You'll forge memories for life at Lucy's.
What to order: Juicy Lucy
3. Bastien's Restaurant
Looking for a fancy but Denver classic type place? Bastien's has been around since 1937 doing their sugar rub on cuts of beef. The atmosphere is very Frank Sinatra and the twice baked potatoes will keep you coming back for years. What to order: New York Strip Sugar Steak
4. Uno Mas Taqueria
I love the small patio at this eatery on Pearl. Sipping a fresh paloma while you gorge on tacos under the setting sun is great for your first date or your 100th.
What to order: House Chorizo
5. Farmhouse Thai
Located in Lakewood, this place does incredibly spicy curries (if you're into that kind of thing — I certainly am). The vibe is very homey, you could 100 percent make this your neighborhood spot and learn everyone's names.
What to order: Panang Curry
6. AJ's Pit Bar-B-Q
If you're looking for a "fancier" bbq spot in Denver, look no further than AJ's. It's a bit unsuspecting from the outside but once you enter the dining room strung with twinkly lights you'll feel the romance vibes.
What to order: Waygu Beef Pastrami
7. White Pie
Every couple needs a pizza spot and White Pie is my favorite for date nights. It has an industrial chic vibe with white brick walls and a huge pizza oven cranking out savory pies.
What to order: House Puff
