Let's Talk 61 in 1001

If you re-read the list below you'll note that it was clearly created before COVID-19 struck our world an insane blow. So many of the tasks involve travel and that's just impossible at the moment. So, I thought we should do a bit of restructuring. Since the list doesn't end until late 2022 I'm not going to rewrite the goals completely...yet. If we get to the end of 2021 and the major ones still seem impossible I'm going to reevaluate and come up with some new ideas. It stinks. I wanted this 61 in 1001 to be amazing but ya know, life happens. Join me on this journey — xoxo darling, Hayden.

1. Read 100 books — I've read 24 thus far and while I'm proud of that number, it needs to dramatically increase. My friend Lauren & I are going to do a two-person book club and then I'm going to try to read more each month. I truly love reading and just have to convince myself to do it more.

4. Do 4 more Haute Table travel guides — I've already written two and want to finally sit down to crank out my NC version because we've been going since I'm a kid and I feel I'm an expert at this point.

21. Pursue graphic design somehow — While I have no real idea how this could take place, it is certainly something I could do while working from home.

26. Make Croquembouche — This undertaking scares the s*** out of me. But I want to do it because it looks amazing and I want to taste it! Claire Saffitz just made it for Munchies and I think I'll follow that to a T.

28. Work on my book — Well...when I wrote this I had one book in mind but now I kind of think a different book would be better. And then recently I had another idea. So I'm not entirely sure...but I should really think about it while we're still quarantining.

30. Do something for my career — So, technically I've already done this. But I'm waiting for the big reveal to come mid-May!

32. Re-read all of the Harry Potter books — I mean...this just screams quarantine. When I'm back in Denver and start doing my walks again I'm going to listen to the audiobooks.

34. Add a new layer to my skincare routine — Seems fairly simple...just have to commit to a product!

36. Cook 10 new recipes — 4 have been crossed off but I need to figure out what the last 6 should be.

40. Get business cards — I think I want to make some for my side hustles (aka Denver Food Adventures, Feminist Cocktails and Haute Table).

44. Have my camera professionally cleaned — This would just be dropping it off and picking it up...should be easy!

46. Build a snowman — Truly have never made one. Once I'm back in Denver I'll try.

50. Create a photographer's guide to Denver — Ugh, this is just sitting down to do it.

55. Buy something big for myself — When I wrote this I was thinking along the lines of a Chanel flap bag or Hermes scarf but now I think I just want to save for a downpayment on a house...which would be forever in the future but start saving now, ya know?

56. Bake bread — Weirdly a hold out of mine during quarantine but we shall do it!

57. Keep fresh flowers in the apartment for 3 months — Once I'm back in Denver this just becomes a "remember to add to the grocery list" item.

58. Donate to Planned Parenthood — I've been saving this one because I would like to make it a really big one.

59. Go flower picking — As soon as spring hits I'll be doing this!

60. Buy perfume I truly like — Not entirely sure how to do this, but we can try.
