LA Day 1 Re-Cap

Being in LA makes me feel happy, no matter how long the stay & what I do {even if it is watch a team lose in the Rose Bowl}. There is something about the seeing the Pacific with the mountains in the background that makes you feel relaxed and at home. After grabbing some breakfast we headed out to Placerita Canyon State Park to see the Oak of the Golden Dream, where the first gold was found in CA.
After driving through lots of small towns we stopped at The Hat for some French Dips & fries.
We visited The Getty Villa in the afternoon {which has a separate post posting Saturday} and I grabbed this photo as the sun set over the Pacific.
After driving through Malibu we grabbed dinner at Gulp Restaurant & Brew Pub it was a mix between hipster and nice bar. I had the brisket tacos which were quite delicious considering I was in Cali and not Texas. The tortillas were not as fresh as I would have liked them but the salsa was great and the meat tasted fresh.
Then it was time to get an ice cream cookie sandwich at the family favorite, Diddy Riese, in Westwood. Needless to say, it was delicious. After which we headed back to the hotel for some much needed sleep. Stay tuned for my second re-cap coming this Friday-xoxo darling, Hayden.
