My New Portfolio

Very soon I will be graduating from college...let's not talk about it...but in order to get a job after graduation I created a new portfolio site. My old one was...iffy but the new one I am incredibly proud of. I hope y'all will let me know your thoughts as well. Here is a link to my portfolio, feel free to explore it.
But I thought this was a good opportunity to talk about portfolios in general. I think the more minimal the better but to each their own. Also, I used to use WordPress, something that I have always hated. But now I use SquareSpace and it is so worth it. I bought a year subscription and my university gives a 50% discount {check, your's might too} so it was only $7 a month. With the fee you also get a custom domain name. I was able to buy www.haydenpigott.com, thank goodness. The whole system is fairly user friendly and they have great Q&A pages if you can't figure out how to do something {ie. me}.
I created a static open page:

If you click on Portfolio it takes you through to the whole site or if you click one of the social media icons they will take you to my various sites. I went with very basic fonts because I wanted to choose a really colorful photo - which is me in a nutshell. I adore this pink wall in Austin & the color orange {hook 'em} so that was important for me to showcase.
Once you click portfolio you are taken here:

The squares, which continue and look like below are links to my various pieces of work. As you can see HT is first, I do my most work on it. Some of the photos are my own, the others are images I found online that went with the organization. Some of them link directly through to the site, for example I write for Spoon University and it takes you right to my page that has links to all of the articles I've written.

If you click on something like, Arcadia London Guide, I have created a seperate page {hidden it from view} with links to other separate pages {also hidden from view}. The landing page has links to the articles I've written that weren't published online so they have their own page where they are written on the site.

Other than that there is the About page, I went with a simple description of myself because I also have my resume on the site {you'll see that below as well}.

I embedded my resume onto my site so if you click on it, it takes you to wear you can download a PDF.

Lastly, my contact page. I included my email address because my phone number is on my resume if someone absolutely has to get to me.

Overall, I'm really happy with the way it turned out and I hope this might help y'all with your portfolios. I would love to see them so send me the links-xoxo darling, Hayden.
