The Food Diaries: Home Slice

Austin has so many staples in their repertoire of restaurants. But if you ever mention the words "pizza" and "Austin" people will immediately point you to Home Slice
I will probably always remember Home Slice...but not just because their pie is delicious. I went there after I discovered that I was not going to be in a sorority, something that was a dream of mine. Looking back on it, I see how caught up in the moment I was and how thankful I am that I did not end up in a sorority. I do not think I would have the same opportunities I do now if I had.
But Home Slice will go down as being the food that fed not only my hungry stomach but my upset soul.
They have two side-by-side locations, one is more of a "pick it up and go" type deal and the other has seating. We sat out back under a covering with these very Dwell panels.
I will not lie when I say I have been thinking about this Caprese Salad for a month. I cannot get it out of my mind and I want some RIGHT NOW. I do not understand why I am craving it, but I am, so when you go to Home Slice, order some.
I personally loved the chandelier hanging from the metal overhead.
Now this is crazy, but I did not get any photos of the pizza itself, because I was so hungry at that point I just jumped in. But let me tell you, it was delicious & I would order it any time, day or night. It has that classic pizza joint taste and is so much better than any chain. Plus they'll wrap it up for you like a swan...
