I have only ever seen glass blowing in Waterford, Ireland at Waterford Crystal so I kind of understood the process but I had never seen people work with color or form Chihuly-esque shapes. But when we were in St. Pete we had the opportunity to watch a glass blower at work thanks to the Morean Arts Center Hot Shop. It is a complicated process that takes lots of grace and skill. I know if I ever tried I would burn myself all over {the glory hole {oven} runs at 2000 degrees F} and I would probably break my piece-xoxo darling, Hayden.
What it started out as.
The "glory hole"
